A website is software. We build it like one.
Every website starts with the same question: what does this site actually need to do? The answer decides whether you need a static page, a content-managed site, or something closer to a custom application — and we build to that answer, not a template.
Four kinds of website. One of them is yours.
Not every business needs the same website. We start by working out which of these actually fits, then build only what's needed.
Marketing Site
A fast, static site with no CMS. Content lives in code and updates ship as deploys, not content-editor sessions.
Best for: Businesses whose site content changes rarely — a few times a year, not a few times a week.
Content-Managed Site
A headless CMS gives your team a proper editing interface for pages, posts, menus, or offers — no code required to publish.
Best for: Businesses that publish regularly: blog posts, seasonal menus, changing promotions, multi-author teams.
Custom Web App
A purpose-built interface over a real database, for structured operational data rather than articles — bookings, listings, applications.
Best for: Businesses whose website needs to run part of the operation, not just describe it.
E-Commerce
A storefront with product catalog, cart, checkout, and inventory sync, sized to your catalog and platform requirements.
Best for: Businesses selling products directly through the site, from a handful of SKUs to a full retail catalog.
Whoever updates the site shouldn't need us to do it.
We pick the content approach based on how often the site changes and who's making the change — not the other way around.
No CMS — Content in Code
The simplest, fastest, and cheapest option to maintain. We update copy directly and redeploy. Right for sites that don't change often.
Headless CMS
A structured editor (in the spirit of Sanity or Contentful) for text, images, and pages, connected to the same fast front end. Your team edits; we don't have to be involved for routine updates.
Custom Admin Dashboard
For operational data — bookings, inventory, listings — a generic CMS is the wrong tool. We build a purpose-fit admin screen over a real database instead.
E-Commerce Platform
Shopify for standard retail catalogs, or a custom storefront when checkout, inventory, or product logic doesn't fit an off-the-shelf platform.
The engineering underneath
Regardless of which build type fits, every website we ship holds to the same technical bar.
- A component-based design system, not a stack of one-off pages
- Responsive engineering tested across real breakpoints, not just resized in a browser
- A performance budget targeting strong Core Web Vitals, not just a fast first load
- Accessibility built to WCAG AA as a default, not an afterthought
- Technical SEO: structured data, sitemaps, and clean semantic markup
- Analytics and event tracking wired in from launch
- A staging environment with preview deploys before anything goes live
- Content migration from your existing site, where one exists
- A defined support window after launch
- Documentation and a walkthrough, so your team isn't locked out of its own site
Our default stack
A modern, boring-in-the-best-way stack we use by default. We deviate from it when a project has a real reason to — not out of habit.
Not sure which kind of website you need?
Tell us what the site has to do and who's going to update it. That's usually enough to know.
